Just a little longer

Had hoped to get the new collection posted this week, but alas,  had not planned on getting a nasty case of the flu.  So it will be just a little longer . . .

New Collection Coming Soon

At last getting a new collection together!  Had many wonderful findings to work with, but with moving and the holidays it’s taken ’til now to actually go through the boxes and create these lovely necklaces and earrings.  As you will see, this collection is very organic in form with many art nouveau and deco elements, lots of rich color and mixed metals.

Below are some pics I took with the iphone so that you can get a preview of some of the new things.  The pieces are not yet posted on the site, so if there’s something you’d like a price for (with Valentine’s Day near) and more info on let me know!

The focal point of this necklace is a beautiful antique paste and pearl deco finding.  The gilded Putti was given to me by Rebecca Webb Lentz—a great lady and former Denishawn dancer—who was founder and director of the New Orleans School of Ballet when I taught there.

This necklace has an antique art nouveau goddess, antique paste and glass pendant and the chain is set with pearls —

Beautifully detailed vintage enamel pendant strung with a chain of lemon/lime faceted

antique Czech crystals —

I had one more pair of these fabulous knotty fresh water pearls.  These earrings look like they just came out of Monet’s garden.

This is a stunning heavy bronze vintage pendant with glass pearls and turquoise —

Images of a few more pieces of the new collection below —

A bunch of glimmering findings in a mother of pearl shell.  Inspiration!

The entire new collection should be posted in about a week —

Adventures in Emeryville 3

Last weekend we took a little time off and drove over to 4th St.  It’s a lovely little shopping district in Berkeley with many small independent shops and restaurants.   There’s often a band playing music right outside Peets Coffee and the area is filled with people just having a wonderful mellow time, kids and doggies too!

These two totally adorable kids (exuberantly having a marvelous day) were on their way to Anthropologie, the little one in her mom’s coat—

There was a big crowd at George Pet Store who was hosting Milo Foundation pet adoptions —

The volunteers were great —

The Gardener is  a beautiful shop carrying plants, gifts and whimsical, unusual things —

Bette’s Ocean View Diner — Yummy —

The Cupkates Bakery Truck showed up and a big line formed for some of the best cupcakes in California — Kate McEachern (I think the nice looking guy is her husband),  started the business about 6 months ago —

Beauty is all around you

As we rush from work to errands to walking the dog or picking up the kids; to the dry cleaner, to the hardware store, to that social commitment, to whatever it is that we have to do in this busier than busy existence, we most likely don’t even think about stopping for a moment to catch our breaths, to just stop and see the beauty that’s all around us — simple things really.   So this morning when I took the dog out, I decided to do just that!  Here are a few of the beautiful things I found —

Flowers, blooming all over Emeryville, some of them clearly thinking it’s Spring already —

The intricate pattern of tree bark —

The shadow of a tree on the side of the wall —

Clouds reflected on windows on this wind-swept morning —

A neighbor’s smiling dog —

Here’s hoping you can find a moment to stop — and delight in the beauty that’s around you —

Adventures in Emeryville 2

Point Isabelle Dog Park in Albany (just 15 minutes on the freeway from Emeryville) — heaven for doggies and humans alike!

The largest public off leash park in the US — 23 acres with views of Marin and the Golden Gate Bridge—

With paths running along the bay and a beautiful view —

And hillside places to romp as well —there’s our dog Wookie as a little fuzzy white thing at the top of the hill —

Here he is as his adorable (but bratty) self—

500,00 dogs visit here every year —

All shapes and sizes —
